Tabu announced on Tuesday that she has begun filming for the sequel to her 2015 crime thriller Drishyam. Drishyam 2 was a remake of the 2013 Mohanlal film of the same name, directed by the late Nishikant Kamat.
The Hindi adaptation, starring Ajay Devgn, told the story of a family of four whose lives were turned upside down after an unfortunate incident with their older daughter. Tabu will reprise her role as Meera Deshmukh, Inspector General of Police, in the sequel, which will be directed by Abhishek Pathak.
The 50-year-old actor took to Instagram and posted a photo of clapboard with the caption, “Day 1. Drishyam 2.” The film, which began production in February, is said to be being shot in Goa. Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta will also return for the sequel.
Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar produce Drishyam 2, which is co-produced by Sanjeev Joshi, Aditya Chowksey, and Shiv Chanana.
Tabu’s next film will be Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which will be released in theatres on May 20.
