“Neeyat,” a thriller starring Vidya Balan, began filming in the United Kingdom on Tuesday. Balan reunites with her “Shakuntala Devi” director Anu Menon for the Prime Video film.
Balan rushed to Instagram to share a photo with Menon and the film’s producer, Abundantia Entertainment’s Vikram Malhotra.
“Excited to start filming one of the most interesting screenplays I’ve read in a long time, with some of my favourite people — @directormenon & @ivikramix.” All I can say is prepare for the unexpected. “#Neeyat Filming Begins,” the 43-year-old actor said on Instagram.
The official logline of “Neeyat,” billed as a thriller, reads: “When guests start dying at exiled millionaire Ashish Kapoor’s birthday vacation, investigator Mira Rao must uncover cunning motivations since the suspects include Kapoor’s close friends and family.” Neatt” is Balan’s fourth collaboration with Abundantia Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video. The three previously worked together on “Shakuntala Devi,” “Sherni,” and, most recently, “Jalsa.”
Menon, Advaita Kala, and Girvani Dhyani wrote the script for the film. Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Kala, and Dhyani wrote the script, while Kausar Munir wrote the dialogue.
“Neeyat ,” which was co-produced by Amazon Prime Video and Abundantia Entertainment, also features Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Mita Vasishth, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli, and Danesh Razvi.
