Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan wish their fans a happy Independence Day

Celebrities have sent their best wishes to India as it celebrates 75 years of independence on Monday. Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli. As they posed for the photo, the couple smiled.

Anushka Sharma wore white ethnic wear in the photo, while Virat wore a grey T-shirt. Behind them was the national flag. Anushka added in the caption, “We are celebrating 75 years of freedom,” and it was included with the photo. I’d like to wish all Indians around the world a very #HappyIndependenceDay! #HarGharTiranga, Jai Hind.”

Akshay Kumar took to Instagram to share a close-up black and white photo of himself holding a national flag and smiling. He composed the following sentence in both Hindi and English: “Swatantrata’s kimat it Bali dan jaani hai” (The value of freedom was known after many sacrifices). Let us always treasure our freedom. #Indiaat75, happy #IndependenceDay.”
