Fans have been entertained by Bollywood films for decades, but no film is complete without Bollywood villains. As a villain plays an essential role in a narrative. Now, playing a villainous role is not an easy endeavor, as actors must induce terror in the audience and imbue their on-screen figures with immorality and malice. Not only are Bollywood Villains terrifying, but they are also among the least favored characters. In recent years, a large number of well-known Bollywood actors have played scary villains and won acclaim for their performances.
From Sanjay Dutt in Agneepath to Saif Ali Khan in Omkara, the following Bollywood actors have excelled at portraying Bollywood villains on-screen.
Here are the top five actors that have excelled as Bollywood villains:
Saif Ali Khan
“Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” is a biographical period drama directed by Om Raut and starring Ajay Devgn as the title character. Saif Ali Khan was observed portraying Udaybhan Singh Rathore. With his outstanding performance, he had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Fans were highly impressed by the actor’s portrayal of the antagonist, and he also garnered a great deal of appreciation from the critics.
This is not Saif’s first time portraying a villainous role. He had previously portrayed Ishwar Langda Tyagi in the film Omkara. In the film, his menacing persona provided a new dimension to his acting. In the forthcoming mythological drama Adipurush, Saif will soon be seen portraying Raavan. Ram and Sita are portrayed by Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, respectively.
Sanjay Dutt
As Kancha Cheena, Sanjay Dutt was at his most scary in Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath. To play the gloomy part, the actor’s physique underwent a significant alteration. In addition to gaining mass, he also shaved his head. Sanjay Dutt’s devilish appearance made Kancha appear exceedingly menacing.
Hrithik Roshan
The Greek God of Bollywood is typically cast as an action star or love hero, but in Vikram Vedha, he managed to impress his fans. Roshan has invested a great deal of effort into making Vedha a very fabricated character, and the audience adores him for it.
Ranveer Singh
The actor’s performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical epic Padmaavat was one of the film’s highlights. Bollywood had never witnessed a performance like an actor’s rendition of Khilji. Ranveer’s portrayal in Gully Boy was so bleak that it weighed heavily on him and left viewers in awe of his acting skills.
