Deepika Padukone will play ‘Lady Singham’ in Rohit Shetty’s cop world, as announced. The first film they will produce together is Singham Again. On Thursday in Mumbai, Ranveer Singh and Deepika attended the song launch for the filmmaker’s flick Cirkus, where he made this statement.
At the launch of the song ‘Current Laga Re,’ in which Deepika appears opposite Ranveer, Rohit said that he will work with Deepika Padukone on Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again. Deepika will become the first female cop in his cop universe, which includes the franchises Singham, Suryavanshi, and Simmba.
Rohit stated, “My upcoming film, Singham, is set in our cop universe. Everyone continues to inquire as to when I will unveil Lady Singham. Deepika Padukone will play Lady Singham in the sequel to Singham. She is my woman bomb from the cop universe, and we will begin working on this project together next year.” The director also revealed that Ranveer will appear in the film, stating, “You’re like aloo (potato), you’re in every film.” Ranveer leads the Simmba franchise and previously appeared in Akshay Kumar’s Suryavanshi.
Ranveer and Deepika’s chemistry in ‘Current Laga Re’ is electrifying; it has been a while since the two have collaborated on a dance tune.
Ranveer described working with Deepika as enjoyable. He stated, “When Deepika and I are on set together, we have a lot of fun. You must savour the times when you have a trustworthy co-actor, someone who does not engage in one-upmanship, and it becomes a collaborative effort in which there is give and take. I believe that trust is the foundation of excellent chemistry between co-actors.”
Deepika stated that they are not husband and wife on set, but rather two actors who are completely immersed in their roles. “On set, we do not consider ourselves husband and wife. As soon as the camera is turned on, we as actors think of our characters. And then there are additional factors such as trust and enjoyment. All of these factors contribute to the occurrence of these (magical moments on film).”
