Day three of the Indian 2 box office collection: Kamal Haasan’s vigilante film, directed by Shankar, has experienced a consistent decline in popularity since its release on Friday. According to Sacnilk, the sequel to their 1996 cult film grossed ₹15 crore on its debut Sunday.
Indian 2 box office Sacnilk reported that the Tamil version earned ₹11 crore, the Telugu version (Bharateeyudu 2) earned ₹2.8 crore, and the Hindi version (Hindustani 2) collected only ₹1.3 crore of the ₹15.1 crore that Indian 2 accumulated on its third day at the domestic box office.
The second day’s revenue of Indian 2 amounted to ₹13.7 crore in Tamil, ₹3.2 crore in Telugu, and ₹1.3 crore in Hindi, resulting in a cumulative total of ₹18.2 crore. This represents a further decline from that day. However, Indian 2 experienced a significant decline from its opening day, with a total of ₹25.6 crore (₹16.5 crore in Tamil, ₹7.9 crore in Telugu, and ₹1.2 crore in Hindi). It is intriguing that Indian 2 experienced a slight increase in its Hindi iteration on Saturday and maintained a consistent trajectory on Sunday. In the Hindi markets, it is in competition with Sudha Kongara’s adaptation of Soorarai Pottru, Sarfira, which stars Akshay Kumar.
Regarding Indian 2
The sequel is regarded as a form of return for director Shankar, who appeared to have reached a low point following the death of writer Sujatha in 2008. Enthiran, starring Rajinkanth and Aishwarya Rai, was considered the pinnacle of the Shankar-Sujatha partnership in the Tamil film industry, as it had produced numerous blockbusters. Indian, Mudhalvan, Boys, and Shivaji: The Boss are also among the most popular songs.
Shankar, together with B Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar, cooperated to collectively create the screenplay for Indian 2.
Kamal Haasan portrays the character of Senapathy in the movie, affectionately known as “Indian Thatha” by his fans. Senapathy is a vigilante who combats corruption with the ancient martial art of India, “varma kalai.”
Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies are the producers of Indian 2. In addition, the film includes Siddharth, S J Suryah, Bobby Simha, Gulshan Grover, and the deceased Nedumudi Venu. A R Rahman composed the music for the original film, while Anirudh composed the music for the sequel.
