Watch: Chadwick’s final appearance as Black Panther

The first trailer for Marvel Studios ‘Black Panther’ What If…??’ is out, and it’s making fans of the series extremely emotional.

The new animated series is expected to alter the path of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by looking at significant events from a fresh perspective. However, the fact that it represents late actor Chadwick Boseman’s final act as his renowned ‘Black Panther’ character T’Challa had many cries on social media.

The actor, who died last year after a private battle with colon cancer, voiced his animated avatar and repeated his role as the superhero. In keeping with the ‘What If…?’ theme, this one envisions T’Challa, not the Black Panther a.k.a King of Wakanda, but rather as Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hayley Atwell will reprise her role as Peggy Carter, but this time she will be welding the Captain’s shield. Josh Brolin reprises his role as Thanos, Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as Thor, Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury, Natalie Portman reprises her role as Jane Foster, Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Clint Barton, Michael B. Jordan reprises his role as Killmonger, Michael Rooker reprises his role as Yondu Udonta, Paul Rudd reprises his role as Scott.

The first season of ‘What If…?’ is set to launch on August 11 and will consist of ten episodes.

Tony Stark, undead Steve Rogers, The Collector, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Howard the Duck will all appear in the animated series, although they will be voiced by different actors.

Dominic Cooper portrays Howard Stark, David Dastmalchian portrays Kurt, Michael Douglas portrays Hank Pym, Jeff Goldblum portrays Grandmaster, Frank Grillo portrays Brock Rumlow, Sean Gunn portrays Kraglin, Djimon Hounsou portrays Korath the Pursuer, Toby Jones portrays Arnim Zola, Nem McDonough portrays Dum Dum Dugan, Chris Sullivan portrays Taserface, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine, and Taika Waititi as Korg.

Meanwhile, the producers of ‘Black Panther 2’ have stated that Chadwick would not be brought back to the screen utilizing different CGI techniques. They did say, however, that the whole sequel was rewritten in the wake of the actor’s untimely death, and that his beloved role will be honoured in the next picture.

On July 8, 2022, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ will premiere. It’s one among 26 forthcoming Marvel Studios films set to hit theatres in the coming months.
