Thursday morning, on the occasion of Ram Navami, the producers of Adipurush released a new poster for the film. In the film Adipurush, directed by Om Raut and based on the Ramayana, Prabhas plays Raghav, Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, Sunny Singh plays Shesh, and Devdatta Nage plays Bajrang. Saif Ali Khan also appears in the film as the antagonist Lankesh. But, he is absent from the poster in question. The film’s lead star Prabhas shared the poster with the caption: “Your name is greater than all chants; Jai, Shri Ram. Salute, Lord Ram!” The magnum opus is scheduled to be released in IMAX and 3D in theaters on June 16 of this year.
The teaser for Adipurush was released a year ago, and the film’s visual effects were heavily criticized. NY VFXwala, a studio founded by Ajay Devgn, issued a statement dissociating itself from the film after the CGI-heavy teaser attracted much criticism last year. “Famous VFX studio NY VFXwala has indicated that they have not worked on Adipurush’s CG/special effects and are not currently working on it. An official message on their behalf stated, “We are putting this on record because a few media members have requested it.” “Read the statement that Taran Adarsh tweeted.
In theaters, the film Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh will be released in the languages of Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film was scheduled to debut on August 11 of last year. In order to avoid a release date conflict with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, the creators of Aadipurush changed the film’s release date, for which Khan praised the film’s producers.
The movie was directed by Om Raut, while Retrophiles’ Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair were responsible for producing it.
