Malang stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor to headline the Indian adaptation of The Night Manager for Disney+ Hotstar.
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan is set to make his OTT debut with the Hindi adaptation of the British mini-series The Night Manager, according to rumors from September last year. The series was set to air on Disney+ Hotstar, and the actor was reportedly compensated in the region of Rs. 75 crore for his participation. However, it was announced in February of this year that the actor had withdrawn from the production. This was followed by Manoj Bajpayee’s withdrawal, who was unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts. As a result, the filmmakers started looking for two actors, and they’ve finally found them in Malang’s Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor.
Aditya and Anil have been cast as the leads in the Indian remake of The Night Manager, according to a tabloid source. While Aditya portrays the Indian version of Jonathan Pine, who was played by Tom Hiddleston in the original 2016 limited series based on John Le Carre’s 1993 novel, Anil Kapoor will reprise Hugh Laurie’s role as an arms dealer who poses as a business tycoon.
The main cast for the film is still being finalized by the producers. The six-part spy series will be directed by Sandeep Modi and will be shot on a large scale. Preity Zinta and Banijay Asia are collaborating on the film.
The Night Manager is a British television serial directed by Susanne Bier and starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, David Harewood, Tom Hollander, and Elizabeth Debicki in pivotal roles. The series originally premiered on BBC One on February 21, 2016.
