During Diwali, actor Akshay Kumar visited the Akshay Kumar 14th International Kudo Tournament near Surat, Gujarat. Since fifteen years ago, Akshay has been in charge of organising the competition. He uploaded a video from the championship where he met the season’s champions. In addition, he demonstrated his fitness by breaking bricks during the tournament.
Suit-clad, Akshay is observed arriving at the location. He addressed the crowd from a stage and also presented awards to the champions with the most impressive abilities. The actor also participated actively in the event and demonstrated his fighting abilities by smashing bricks with a hammer.
Sharing his comments alongside the video, Akshay stated in his post, “Thank you for celebrating Diwali with us at the 14th International Kudo Tournament hosted by Akshay Kumar. Meeting you all is always humbling; it reminds me of my humble beginnings. I believe that with the support of this event, Kudo would continue to expand in India each year.”

Akshay has trained in numerous styles of martial arts over the years. He has Karate, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai training. In 2011, kudoindia.org reported him regarding his endeavour as saying, “Karate is me. Karate gave me my name, Akshay. I owe it my life, my job, and the reason I am a disciplined action hero. I believe that karate should be required in schools so that children can defend and discipline themselves.”
“I had a unique opportunity. My father permitted me to train. Now, I wish to be a father figure to people who are less fortunate. I wish I were more capable. Currently, I am paying, feeding, supporting, and organising this event in order to identify the top competitors so that they can participate worldwide and promote karate in India,” he added, according to the newspaper.
Recently, Akshay’s action-adventure film Ram Setu was released. Abhishek Sharma directed the film, which also features Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez.
