“The #MeToo accusations affected me a lot,” she added. I’m not bothered by the hatred; I’m bothered by the distortion of his character. People believe he’s a bad guy, but ask anyone who knows me, and they’ll tell you he’s the softest teddy bear you’ll ever meet.”
Aaliyah went on to say that it makes her nervous. “It’s this, not the hatred, that makes me nervous. I’m quite aware that whatever hatred I receive for him comes from folks who have nothing better to do with their lives. My father has also been attempting to keep his belongings away from me since he doesn’t want to aggravate my anxiety,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Aaliyah is seeing Shane Gregoire, with whom she has been seen sharing romantic videos and photos. Aaliyah has previously stated that she met her partner on a dating app on her YouTube channel. “I was the one who made the initial move. I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ when we met after two months of communicating. I was expecting him to kiss me, but I was thinking to myself, “He’s not doing it.” Because I don’t believe he knew if I was okay with it or anything, I just went ahead and did it. It was really embarrassing because we were chatting and I did it in the middle of a sentence because I was so scared and thinking about it,” she said Ida Ali, daughter of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.
