Bastar evaluation

The film “Bastar” is evaluated by the Hindustan Times as follows: “While it effectively underscores the intricate nature of the struggle against naxalism, it fails to comprehensively delve into the subtleties of its subject matter. Although the film’s devotion to honouring the sacrifices of individuals caught in the crossfire and display of patriotism are praiseworthy, it lacks a certain degree of depth in its narrative and thus leaves the audience with a sense of unfinished business.

Amrutlal Shah Vipul on Bastar

During an event, Vipul Amrutlal Shah expressed his admiration for the ‘A’ certificate the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted to the film. “We furnished all the documents requested by the CBFC and presented every piece of evidence.” After the examination, they sought advice from the experts. The news agency PTI quoted him as saying, “Upon viewing the film, the screening committee approved it with modifications to the ‘adult’ film certificate.”

Additionally, he stated, “It is commonly believed that the censor will prevent the release of such films, but the board has walked alongside us efficiently throughout this process.” The board could have improved certain aspects. However, I believe they accomplished an excellent job.”
