Swati Maliwal, the head of the Delhi Commission for Women, has written to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur requesting that filmmaker Sajid Khan be removed from the reality show Bigg Boss 16. Several people accused the director of sexual harassment and unethical behavior during the #MeToo movement in 2018. Sajid Khan was given a one-year suspension from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) in 2018, following repeated allegations of sexual harassment made against him by female coworkers.
During the #MeToo movement, ten women accused Sajid Khan of sexual misconduct. All of these complaints demonstrate Sajid’s disgusting mentality. Incorrectly, this man has been given a spot on Bigg Boss 16. Maliwal tweeted in Hindi on Monday, “I have written to @ianuragthakur requesting that Sajid Khan be removed from this show.” The premiere of the 16th season of Bigg Boss aired on October 1.
Despite the outrage on social media, the matter was not addressed on the broadcast; instead, Sajid Khan attributed his failure on his “arrogance.” The show is hosted by Salman Khan, who gave the director a warm welcome, causing fans to be even more dissatisfied.
While many celebrities, including Farhan Akhtar, have remained silent on the issue, others, such as Sona Mohapatra, have condemned his participation and called out those who have remained silent, such as Farhan Akhtar. Devoleena Bhattacharjee is the most recent actor to criticize the show, telling Aaj Tak, “It breaks my heart to see him on national television attempting to prove he is a hero. I feel horrible when I consider the future of our civilization, she remarked.
Nonetheless, Sajid Khan appeared to have also received support from Shehnaaz Gill and Kashmere Shah, among others. In the most recent episode, Sajid Khan went so far as to declare himself the “boss” of everyone. Aside from the actors of television serials, these people are… inko lagta hai yeh humari duniya hai. All of these people are television actors, please understand. These performers feel that this is their world. However, I am in charge of everything)”
