The 73rd Emmys Awards 2021 got started with a small attendance at LA’s Microsoft Theater, which is a significant improvement from last year’s event, which was largely a virtual affair due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
Ted Lasso of Apple TV+ led the pack with 20 nominations and three awards, one for Jason Sudeikis in the Lead Actor category and one each for Hannah Waddington and Brett Goldstein in the Supporting Actress and Actor categories.

With 24 nominations, Netflix’s The Crown matched with Disney+’s The Mandalorian for the most nominated drama series. The show won in the writing and directing categories, and Olivia Colman and Josh O’Connor won Lead Actress and Lead Actor, respectively. Gillian Anderson and Tobias Menzies won in the Supporting categories in a drama series, the show won in the writing and directing categories, and the show won in the writing and directing categories. Mare of Easttown is off to a strong start as well, with Kate Winslet winning the Lead Actress award in the Limited Series category and Evan Peters and Julianne Nicholson winning the Supporting Actor and Actress categories, respectively.
