On Tuesday, Naga Chaitanya, who is promoting Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s Laal Singh Chaddha, was seen leaving filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office in Mumbai. Pictures of Chaitanya outside Bhansali’s office have gone viral on social media, with fans pleading with the filmmaker to remake Devdas with the actor. Nageswara Rao, Chaitanya’s grandfather, starred in the Telugu version of Devdas many years ago.
Devadasu, released in 1953, is still regarded as one of the most iconic Telugu films. It was suggested by an admiring fan, in Telugu, in the comments section of an article about the current Mumbai appearance of Naga Chaitanya that the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali be enlisted to direct Devdas with the actor. It was “Bollywood’s biggest (filmmaker)” who finally discovered “our buried treasure,” wrote another. Chaitanya was photographed wearing a black tee and light brown khaki chinos, as seen on paparazzi and fan pages on Twitter and Instagram.
Chaitanya was most recently seen in Thank You, a Telugu film. He has a significant role in his next film, Laal Singh Chaddha. Chaitanya joined the cast as a replacement for actor Vijay Sethupathi, who had originally been cast in the role. In the film, Chaitanya will play Aamir Khan’s close friend. This will be Chaitanya’s Bollywood debut. His scene was shot in Ladakh for over a month. The Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump is Laal Singh Chaddha. Chaitanya will be seen as Benjamin Buford Blue, also known as Bubba.
Chaitanya and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu will soon begin work on their upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film. This was the first project he had signed after his divorce from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Chaitanya was last seen in the Telugu romantic drama Love Story, which went on to become one of his career’s biggest hits. Sekhar Kammula directed the film, which also starred Sai Pallavi.
