Since then, so many names have surfaced as the leading lady opposite the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 star that the filmmakers were forced to issue a statement saying that no actress has been finalized for the upcoming film.
On September 7, trade analyst Taran Adarsh issued a statement from the Aashiqui 3 team that said, “Kartik Aaryan – ‘Aashiqui 3’: Leading Lady Not Yet Finalized… Team #Aashiqui3 has published a statement regarding the leading lady’s casting: “The search for a leading lady continues… We’d want to share the news with the fans as soon as it’s finalized.”
Gulshan Devaiah, known for starring in critically acclaimed films such as Hunterrr, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, and A Death In The Gunj, among others, responded to this statement by quoting Taran’s tweet and writing, “I offer myself for the role of “Leading Lady” Dhamaka Hardinge dono Bhai milke pitcher may like ke le lo.”

The actor, who portrayed a gay lawyer named Guru Narayan in his most recent film, Badhaai Do, earlier this year, stated that he is comfortable portraying a homosexual, but he is willing to play the female lead in this instance. He followed by saying that it is a joke, but if taken literally, it would be difficult to pull off.
