Fans of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone residing in Gulf countries who were anticipating the release of the duo’s film Fighter have been met with unfortunate news. Fighter, according to film industry authority and producer Girish Johar, has been denied release in all Gulf states with the exception of the UAE.
The fighter refused to be released in Gulf states.
Nevertheless, the rationale behind the prohibition remains undisclosed. “Regrettably, the theatrical distribution of #Fighter has been formally prohibited in all Middle Eastern territories,” Girish tweeted. “The film will exclusively premiere in the UAE with a PG15 classification!”
An insider to the Fighter team also corroborated the information concerning the Fighter’s release in Gulf states besides the UAE. As of yet, the producers have not issued an official statement concerning the matter.
Fighter, an aerial action thriller that has not been approved by censor boards in Gulf countries, is scheduled for release in Indian theatres on January 25.
Contrary to Fighter
Siddharth Anand serves as the film’s director, and Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi also appear.
It is produced in collaboration between Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures. As a tribute to the valour, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian armed forces, it is promoted.
Siddharth had previously stated regarding the film, “Mamta (his wife) and I founded the film production company MARFLIX with the title #FIGHTER. An artistic work that is audacious in numerous respects. For us, it is more than a simple film. And everything has been given to this one. The year 2024 begins with the same sense of apprehension and unease. I hope that you all bestow FIGHTER with the same affection that you lavished upon PATHAAN. Everyone, happy new year! Attend the cinema! “On January 25th.”
