Kangana Ranaut pokes fun at director Mahesh Bhatt, asking why he changed his given name to ‘Aslam’

Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actress, is never hesitant to speak her thoughts. She recently took to Instagram to make a sneaky joke at the filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. The actress shared a series of Instagram posts with old clippings of Mahesh Bhatt and stated, “Mahesh Ji nonchalantly and artistically inciting people to violence.” In the video, Mahesh Bhatt is heard discussing Islam, stating that a terrified person cannot be a Muslim, and a Muslim cannot be fearful. Therefore, Kangana asserted that his real name is Aslam and not Mahesh.

In a second segment from the same video, she added, “I am told that his (Mahesh Bhatt’s) real name is Aslam… He converted to wed his second wife (Soni Razdan) … Why conceal such an attractive name?” Kangana wrote in the third clip, “He must use his true name and not represent a religion after he has converted…”

Kangana Ranaut made her Bollywood debut with the 2006 film Gangster, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring Emraan Hashmi. She frequently criticized Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter, the actress Alia Bhatt, for their faith.

Kangana Ranaut was most recently featured in the multilingual biopic ‘Thalaivii,’ which is based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha. She was also involved in an issue with Filmfare when they sent her an invitation and nominated her for Best Actress in a Leading Female Role for ‘Thalaivii’ Next, she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in “Emergency,” which will also mark her directorial debut.
