Madhuri Dixit Nene is set to star in Maja Maa, an Amazon original film, following the success of her digital debut The Fame Game on Netflix.
On Thursday, the project was announced, along with a poster. The poster depicts a happy, if befuddled, family. The poster’s caption read, “#MajaMaaOnPrime: M se Maa, M se Madhuri.” “A warm and funny story about a loving mother who becomes a stumbling block to her son’s marriage plans.”
Madhuri Dixit discussed her experience filming Maja Maa at the Prime Video Presents India event. “Every project that I do, I learn something from it,” she explained. It was a pleasure to work on Maja Maa. It was a great cast with a lot of talent. Each person brought their charm, talent, and enthusiasm. Every day was an incredible experience for me.”
“I am so thankful that small-town stories are being told,” Gajraj Rao, who presumably plays Madhuri’s husband in the film, said. Even when I was in Delhi, I would watch Madhuri’s films and marvel at the magic she creates on screen. The best part is that she isn’t burdened by the fact that she is Madhuri. “I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.”
Maja Maa, directed by Anand Tiwari, also stars Rajit Kapur, Simone Singh, and Ritwik Bhowmik in key roles.
