Rajkummar Rao has provided a compilation of absurd comments made regarding his appearance during his struggle years. The actor has a National Film Award on his credit and has proven his mettle in Bollywood for more than a decade. The actor will now be seen in HIT: The First Case alongside Sanya Malhotra.
Rajkummar was recognized as Adarsh in the 2010 film Love Sex Aur Dhokha by Dibakar Banerjee. He expressed gratitude to Dibakar and casting director Atul Mongia for selecting him based on his acting ability regardless of his appearance. Rajkummar told Bollywood Bubble in a recent interview, in response to a question about the absurd excuses he was given for film rejections, “I was told so many different things. You are not tall enough, your build is off, your eyebrows are not the appropriate form, and you have other odd characteristics. And I was like, what’s up with acting? Who desires it?”
He continued, “I am pleased Dibakar wanted that and my first film’s casting director, Atul Mongia, saw it (Love Sex Aur Dhokha). Nothing else will propel you onward except for this. Eventually, only the talent remains, and nothing else.”
Rajkummar was last seen in Badhaai Do as a homosexual police officer. The film also featured Bhumi Pednekar. He is currently occupied with promoting his upcoming novel, HIT: The First Case. In the film, he portrays a police officer suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is a suspense film directed by Sailesh Kolanu and set for release on July 15. Among his upcoming films is Mr. And Mrs. Mahi, which will reunite him with his co-star from Roohi, Janhvi Kapoor. Additionally, the actor has Bheed and Monica O My Darling in development.
