About Sardar Udham
Udham Singh vindicated the Jallianwala Bagh slaughter by shooting Michael O’Dwyer in
London, in Walk, 1940. This is the story behind this reality – a story of conveying an
unhealed injury for a considerable length of time, of un-yielding purpose and strength, the unmistakable excursion
of ‘Sardar Udham’.
1919, Disdain against the English had been developing in Punjab. Toward the beginning of April, the
Lt. Legislative leader of Punjab, Michael O’Dwyer chose to ‘reestablish request’ in the grieved city
of Amritsar.
On the game changing day of April thirteenth, more than 20,000 unarmed individuals collected in Jallianwala
Bagh. General Dyer came to the bagh with equipped soldiers. Around 1650 rounds
were terminated quickly. It was a bloodbath! Just 20-years of age at that point, Udham
Singh, was profoundly scarred by this slaughter.
In 1931, Udham got away from India and advanced into the mountains of
Afghanistan, in the end arriving at London through the ocean in 1933-34.
In London, he spent the most conclusive 6 years of his life, to re-touch off the upset
started by his master, Bhagat Singh, standing by calmly, to retaliate for the Jallianwala Bagh
misfortune, to kill the man in charge of issues in Punjab, Michael O’Dwyer.
Also, in that determined pursuit, happily forfeited his life.
