The note’s opening section stated, “Let us not gaze back in rage, nor forward in terror, but instead glance about with awareness. We resent the individuals who have wronged us, the frustrations we’ve felt, and the poor luck we’ve had. Fearful of losing our work, contracting an illness, or losing a loved one, we look forward to the prospect of losing our job, contracting a disease, or losing a dear one.”
“The place we need to be is right now, in the present moment, not looking back or forward with anxiety, but completely aware of what is. I take a deep breath and realize how fortunate I am to be alive. I’ve overcome obstacles in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
