Sonali Bendre, an actress, was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. In a new interview, she discussed the difficulties she faced following her surgery.
Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and received treatment in the United States. She returned to India after beating the disease later that year, but she did not return to work. Sonali revealed in a new interview that the surgery left her with a 24-inch scar.
Sonali made her film debut in 1994 with Aag. Her first big hit was the action-romance Diljale (1996). She went on to star in films such as Major Saab (1998), Zakhm (1998), Sarfarosh (1999), Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999), and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000). She has served as a judge on several reality shows, including India’s Best Dramebaaz, Hindustan Ke Hunarbaaz, India’s Got Talent and Indian Idol. She made her OTT debut earlier this month with ZEE5’s upcoming series The Broken News.
Sonali discussed her cancer journey in a new interview with Mashable India. She and her husband, Goldie Behl, both say BC and AC. You go through a process and learn some lessons. And it’s really unfortunate if you haven’t learned them. It taught me a couple of things, I believe (the cancer diagnosis). The point is to remind each other that it is not the goal that is important, but the process and the journey.”
Doctors told her to leave the hospital as soon as possible. My surgeon said to me after surgery, “I want you walking in 24 hours.” I was holding my IV and walking down the corridor for 24 hours. I had a 23-24 inch cut, which made it hard.
Sonali revealed her cancer diagnosis in a tweet in 2018. Life can throw you a curveball at the most inconvenient times, she said in a statement. I was recently diagnosed with high-grade cancer that had metastasized, which we honestly did not expect. A minor ache prompted some tests, which resulted in this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have come together to provide the best support system anyone could ask for. I consider myself extremely fortunate and grateful for each of them.”
The author writes, “There is no better way to deal with this than to act swiftly and decisively.” “There is no other way.” Due to this, and following the advice of my physicians, I am currently receiving treatment in the city of New York. We are still hopeful, and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the overwhelming outpouring of love and support I’ve received in recent days, for which I am grateful.
