Comedian and actor Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday at the age of 58. Last month, he experienced a heart arrest while exercising on the treadmill at the gym and was being treated at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Srivastava had a history of cardiac disease and had previously received stents.
Since then, he has been on life support and exhibited signs of improvement. Earlier reports indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Raju Srivastava’s wife to inquire about his health and offer his best wishes for a swift recovery. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wished Srivastava a speedy recovery by calling his family.
