Vicky Kaushal and Aditya Dhar have revealed their next ambitious collaboration, titled “The Immortal Ashwathama,” after delivering success with “Uri: The Surgical Strike.” However, allegations surfaced shortly after the film began pre-production that it had been postponed due to financial concerns. Vicky Kaushal has recently stated to a news outlet that ‘Ashwatthama’ has been temporarily halted due to logistical issues. Vicky Kaushal’s new movie confirms ‘Ashwatthama’ being temporarily shelved.
The actor noted that such a picture demands a lot of money and that there are a lot of other issues to consider, and that now was not the right time logistically to go ahead with it. Vicky Kaushal also hinted at the possibility of a future revival of ‘Ashwatthama,’ saying that they want to make a film when everything is safe and logistically feasible for the producers.
Previously, SeetaGeeta announced that ‘Ashwatthama’ had been postponed owing to funding constraints. According to reports, producer Ronnie Screvwala realized after much thought that the budget of this picture could not be cut, one of the reasons being that Aditya Dhar (director) had written it in such a way that its cost was approaching Rs 200 crore (that’s the amount). The picture, which was planned to be shot on a green screen, ended up requiring a massive amount of visual effects. While the producer desired a maximum of Rs 125 crore, and after investing so much money, OTT didn’t appear to be a viable choice. As a result, the Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan film has been placed on hold.
