In a recent interview, Vikrant Massey remembered getting his first break outside a restaurant’s restroom in Mumbai. Vikrant was most last seen at Love Hostel.
Before making his Bollywood debut, actor Vikrant Massey was a familiar figure on Indian television. In a recent interview, Vikrant revealed how a television producer contacted him for a job while he was waiting in line outside a restroom. In 2007, Vikrant made his television debut.
Vikrant made his television debut in 2007 on Disney Channel India’s Dhoom Machado Dhoom, as Aamir Hassan. Later, he was featured in programs such as Dharam Veer, Balika Vadhu, and Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo. In 2013, he made his Bollywood debut in Lootera, a film starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. He went on to star in films such as Dil Dhadakne Do, A Death In The Gunj, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Half Girlfriend, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Love Hostel, and many more.
Mashable India interviewed Vikrant recently and asked him about the occasion when an audience member approached him while waiting for a restroom in Mumbai and offered him a performance. He said, “I was waiting in line for the bathroom when this woman came up to me. ‘Will you act?’ she inquired.”
A few days later, he said, “They asked me to their office following our conversation.” “I accepted their offer” I was promised I’d make $6,000 each episode and shoot four in a month, so I guessed $24,000. Okay, I said. I’ve always aspired to be an actress. It’s not like I heard about the money and leaped at the chance. “I reasoned that I may as well learn on the job.”
Vikrant’s next film will be Mumbaikar, which will also feature Vijay Sethupathi. The film, directed by Santosh Sivan, is a remake of the Tamil film Maanagaram. He’s also working on Forensic: The Truth Lies Within. In addition to Vikrant, the film will include Radhika Apte, Prachi Desai, and Rohit Roy.
