Aamir Khan collaborated with Yash Raj Films on the critical and commercial flop Thugs of Hindostan, and his son Junaid will make his acting debut in the YRF film Maharaja.
however, the actor had a falling out with director Yash Chopra many years ago, who accused him of wanting to know how many punches he’d throw at Sunny Deol in the film Darr. Aamir intended to play the part that went to Shah Rukh Khan in the end.
Aamir responded to the charges in a 1997 interview with Rediff, saying that individuals who do not understand his “approach” resort to fabricating “falsehoods.” He said that ‘it hurts a lot when they do this.’
I’d want to put Yash Chopra’s assertion in perspective,” Aamir said. In the initial narrative, he said Sunny (Deol) and I would fight, but Juhi (the lady I was enamenamoredh and bothering) would kill me. That was poetic retribution. Then I discovered that he had told Sunny an alternate ending in which Sunny would murder me. So I requested a combined narrative.”
However, Aamir said, it was the director who guaranteed him that the conclusion will have an”equal fight.” When Aamir enquired as to what he meant, he said that Yash Chopra assured him, in the presence of cameraman Manmohan Singh and playwright Honey Irani, that bothactors ‘would have an equal amount of punches’ in the battle.
Aamir said, “I was anxious about how I looked in the film.” I was not going to get beaten up by a typical hero in a typical commercial picture. Because Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was a different sort of film, I didn’t mind getting beaten up by Deepak Tijori. But if you have a casting coup like Sunny and me, I don’t want to get beaten up by him, or even Arnold Schwarzenegger. Is there a problem with that?”
